Why print media is failing
wtf, folks, wtf? I still have not gotten this week’s New York magazine in my mailbox. There’s no way print media can keep up with online forms of delivery if the USPS cannot, ahem, deliver. What gives? Is this the fault of slow Brooklyn mail delivery? Did you get your copy this week? P.S. I have no reason to complain to NYmag’s circulation dept. as my subscription came free with...
If San Francisco were made of Jell-o →
from the L magazine, renderings of SF made out of Jell-o. Awesome!

But you can see how that’s annoying, right? Or am I being touchy again? Well, maybe I am. OK. Enough! Ultimately the battle for the internet will have to take place somewhere OUTSIDE the internet, that is to say in the world of flesh and blood, and toward that end, readers of this Tumblr, I announce a TAKE BACK THE INTERNET PARTY.
This Friday night. 8 pm until midnight. n+1...
Thanks for setting the right mood. The lights are low, pizza’s in the air,...

Has anyone heard about the Brooklyn Race this weekend? I love scavenger hunts and, natch, Brooklyn, but a $10 entrance fee and no declaration of prize or organizer seems iffy. Does anyone have the scoop?

My awesome, webby friend Finn sent me this link. It’s about all things cake (which you probably know I love in cup- form) and written by a Brooklynite. Check out the sweet Pac Man cupcakes!
wow, what a moon right now.
Jeans, cute ones, that don't break the bank
verenasays:
Has anyone ever bought Uniqlo jeans? I need new jeans and I dont have the $158 required to re-purchase my current pair.
Basically, I need a pair of simple, well-fitting black skinny (but not too skinny) jeans.
Thoughts?
Barney’s is having a huge sale now and they stock J Brand. My SF-based friend Grace lives and dies by Uniqlo to the point where she had me buy 2 identical...
When Girls Dine Alone
twentysomethingtales:
Recently, I’ve taken to eating out for dinner 4-5 nights of the week. Approximately two out of every five evenings, I’ve started dining alone.
At first, this was anxiety-provoking.
Hey Leo, just bring a book and you won’t be alone! At the very least, you’ll be occupied, but at best someone might strike up conversation about what you’re reading. This...
NY Tech Meetup kind of pricey
Is it me, or is the NY Tech Meetup kind of pricey? Or are they just good at targeting the pricepoint for their consumers?
Market research
Market research in the field (Bolt Bus to Boston): the two people immediately in front of me are both using facebook.com now. One Mac, one PC. It’s like something out of a commercial, or a youtube spoof.
This makes me a little sad for future generations... →

I am going.
I’m planning on it as well. I <3ed Ben Kunkel’s book. Read it all on the plane ride to China last fall.
Tumblr vs. Wordpress vs. Blogger
Tumblr is pretty sweet — we all know that — but what do I do with my old Blogger photoblog and occasional word Wordpress blog? I’m most excited about Tumblr’s interface and ease of use. I like the idea of simplifying and minimizing, but how do I incorporate old content here…?
Do you have extra Sigur Ros tickets?
I tried to get tickets to see the Pop Rally show at MoMA, but alas, it sold out before the tickets were even supposed to be released. I’ll heart you forever if you have 2 tickets for me.
